Read the paragraph about how Sarah Goode invented a new kind of bed. One sentence does not fit the topic. Remove that sentence to improve the focus of the paragraph.

In 1885, Sarah Goode designed a new type of bed. She owned a furniture store in the US city of Chicago and knew her customers often lacked space in their homes. So she created a bed that would fold up into a desk. Likewise, Benjamin Franklin invented a library chair that could fold into a small step ladder in the 1700s. For her invention, Sarah Goode became the first African American woman to receive a United States patent. That is, she received credit for her invention, and nobody else could make or sell it.
